Role:

IL-2 is a pleiotropic cytokine involved in T-cell activation, NK cell regulation, and maintenance of immune homeostasis. It functions via the high-affinity IL-2 receptor complex (IL-2Rα/β/γc), influencing clonal expansion of CD8+ cytotoxic T cells and regulatory T cell (Treg) development.
